St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church – Vallejo, California
St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Spirit-led, biblically grounded Pastor to lead our congregation into its next season of ministry and growth. We are a church committed to the Word of God, community impact, and spiritual development, and we desire a shepherd who reflects the heart of Christ in both character and leadership.
Position Summary
The Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of the church, responsible for preaching, teaching, shepherding, and providing vision in alignment with Scripture and the mission of St. Mark.
Minimum Qualifications
- Meets the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9
- Must be able to pass a Background / Livescan Check
- Demonstrates a Christ-like life, marked by humility, integrity, honesty, and self-control
- A clear calling to pastoral ministry and a Spirit-led walk with God
- Minimum of 5 years of ministry experience (pastoral or leadership role)
- Proven ability to preach and teach the Word of God clearly and accurately
- A shepherd’s heart with love, compassion, and care for people
- Demonstrated ability to lead with wisdom, humility, and collaboration
- Must be aligned with the doctrine and practices of the church
- If married, must demonstrate a healthy, Christ-centered family life
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an Associate Minister or ministry leader
- Demonstrated experience in church growth and community outreach
- Biblical or theological education (seminary or equivalent training)
- Has served as an Interim or Pastor
Expectations
The selected candidate will:
- Preach and teach sound doctrine rooted in Scripture
- Provide spiritual leadership and vision for the church
- Care for the congregation through prayer, counseling, and visitation
- Work collaboratively with church leadership and ministries
- Lead with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to unity
About the Pastor’s Family
If married, the Pastor’s wife is welcomed as a supportive partner in ministry, serving according to her gifts and calling. She is not expected to fulfill a defined role but to walk alongside her husband in faith, family, and service.
